Meeting of the BSCRS committee in Brussels, 10 January 2012

1. Adoption of the minutes BSCRS committee meeting 24 November 2011: no comments

2. Website evaluation: The number of visits and visitors to our website increased last year. To improve: the publicity on our website and the spacing of the demands for sponsoring.

3. Preparations Winter meeting 2012:
a mailing will be sent by M.Verlaeckt to inform all ophthalmologists on the venue of the Alicante meeting, and about the ethical and economical session which will be held during this Winter meeting.
The speakers have to confirm the title of their presentation.
For the video session, a master slide for each video must contain information about the case and also the material used.
For those who will not be present the comments on the surgery performed must appear on the video.

4. WHO 20/20: The BSCRS can participate in a fund with the OBPC and SBO-BOG.
This fund will provide a travel grant to allow a young Belgian ophthalmologist to acquire more surgical experience during one month in a BSCRS accredited centre abroad.

5. FRO: Applications are open until May 2012.AOB: AOB suggests one global financial contribution for the Belgian ophthalmological society.
The BSCRS committee refuses this proposition: we must stay independent as we do not have much to gain by such unification.
